County Courthouse

History

Bradford County was renamed 21 December 1858 from New River which was formed 21 Dec 1858 from the Florida territory. Named for Captain Richard Bradford who was killed in the American Civil War's Battle of Santa Rosa Island.

Parent County

1858--Bradford County was created from Columbia and was first called New River. It was renamed Bradford in 1861.  County seat:  Starke [1]
