Bermondsey Christ Church was a chapelry built in the year 1840.
BERMONDSEY (Christ Church), a parish and union, in the borough of Southwark, E. division of the hundred of Brixton and of Surrey, 1½ mile (S. S. E.) from London; A church district named Christchurch was endowed by the Ecclesiastical Commission in 1845.
There are places of worship for Independents and Wesleyans; a Roman Catholic chapel was erected in 1834. Close to it is a convent of the Sisters of Mercy, erected in 1839.
