Parish History

AUGHTON (All Souls), a parish, partly in the union of Howden, and partly in that of Pocklington, Holme-Beacon division of the wapentake of Harthill, East Riding,Yorkshire, containing the chapelry of East Cottingwith. The parish includes Gribthorpe, Gribthorpe and Willitoft, Willitoft, Spaldington and Laytham. Church of England records began in 1610. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.[1][2]
