Aston Flamville St Peter

Aston Flamville St Peter is an Ancient Parish in the county of Leicestershire. Burbage, Leicestershire was a chapelry of Aston Flamville.  Other places in the parish include: Sketchley, Aston, and Flamville.

In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Aston Flamville like this:

ASTON-FLAMVILLE, a township and a parish in Hinckley district, Leicester. The township lies near the river Soar, the Fosse-way, and Watling-street, 3¼ miles ESE of Hinckley r. station, and 9 NW of Lutterworth. Real property, £1,876. Pop., 81. Houses, 15. The parish includes also the chapelry of Burbage and the hamlet of Sketchley. Post Town, Hinckley. Acres, 4,570. Real property, £9,601. Pop., 1,946. Houses, 431. The living is a rectory, united with the curacy of Burbage, in the diocese of Peter. borough. Value, £878.* Patron, Countess Cowper. The church is ancient, and was partly restored in 1855. Charities, £22.
