The 83rd Regiment, Illinois Infantry wasoOrganized at Monmouth, Illinois, and mustered in August 21, 1862. It had Garrison duty at Nashville until June, 1865, then mustered out at Nashville, Tennessee, June 26, and discharged at Chicago, Illinois., July 5, 1865.
