32nd Battalion, Virginia Cavalry (Confederate)

Brief History

The 32nd Battalion, Virginia Cavalry was organized in November 1862, with two companies.  The unit served in the Department of Richmond until September 1863, when it merged into the 42nd Battalion Virginia Cavalry.  Major John R. Robertson was in command.[1]

Companies in this Regiment with the Counties of Origin

Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. However if you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.
