Brief History

The 1st Regiment, Rhode Island Light Artillery was organized at Providece in Batteries A-H between June 6, 1861 and October 14, 1862. They were mustered out between June 11, 1865 and July 3, 1865.[1]

    Battery "B" 1st Regiment Light Artillery was organized at Providence and mustered in August 13, 1861. It was moved to Washington, D. C., May 2-15 and Grand Review May 23.  It was mustered out on June 13, 1865.
