136th Regiment, New York Infantry
The 136th regiment was organized at Portage, Wyoming County, and mustered in September 25, 1862.  This regiment was also known as the "Ironclads" and were mustered in under Colonel James Wood, Jr., Lieutenant Colonel Lester B. Faulkner, and Major David C. Hartshorn. They marched to Washington, D. C., April 29-May 30, 1865 and were mustered out June 13, 1865. The Veterans and Recruits were transferred to 60th New York Infantry.
