Thank you for sending Karen Munger the lessons for the Wiki. She came last week and I went out of town and did not put her on to those. You came to the rescue. AdkinsWH 14:39, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

How do I check on Maps Request?
Welcome and jpg maps request
Hi Marilyn thanks for my lessons and the nice welcome to FamilySearch Wiki.
I thought that I submitted some maps of Belarus that are in the public domain for approval so I can post them on the Belarus Wiki page. I don't see them when I search for jpg images.
Did I submit the request correctly?
If so, how do I check the status of my request?
If not, what do I need to do to add maps/photos etc.?

Why do I have two profiles, a new one comprised of numbers, and my old one?
Hello, Marilyn, and thank you for your responses to my comments about Czech school records. I attempted to create a profile, as suggested, for my "new" profile (consisting of numbers only). I added information, saved it and when I returned to the page, there was nothing there. I went to my old username, and that profile page was also blank.
I am having a difficult time maneuvering through Wiki. I find the instructions confusing--I don't even know if you will get this.
I spend a large amount of time researching archives, etc. and don't want to sit down and learn how to maneuver what appears to be a somewhat complicated program: already what I did read about creating profiles did not work for me. Then when I tried to contact you, I really had to search around. I don't feel this is very user-friendly, which to me is very important.
So to get back to my original question, why do I have a number username plus the username I use when I log into FS? That alone is confusing.
thanks so much for your welcome email and links to get started. I'm quite overwhelmed with this, but will take it a step at a time and hope that I'll figure it out.

Wonderful Wonderful work not being seen
I just love the wonderful Welcome and lessons you are putting on the Talk pages. Just one problem. The first edit to a talk page doesnot go to the User in the form of an email or an alert on the page there has to be two put on the page. I just edit a second time and put an extra period. It is a glitch in the system. Though I had told you so sorry. I will activate the last back to February. Again so sorry. Sandralpond 15:02, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
I lOVE THIS WORK!
Hello, Marilynbgardner49! I appreciate the invitation and reception. I inform you that I am already Wiki contributor (especially Portuguese) as well as inform you that I already have my contributor page. I am available this wonderful work. Vilmarbarbosa 20:07, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for the welcome!
It was a surprise to get a user page! I am trying to place the userboxes with experience in my page, but am getting a list instead of the boxes. Maybe this will come with experience. I also tried to upload a photo of me, with no success. No doubt it is something simple I am missing.
Love indexing and working with FamilySearch although I am not a part of the LDS Church. I hope I can contribute solidly to your site.

Marilyn, I patrolled her comment on your page so I answered her questions (on her own talk page).

Messing up on student assignment
Marilyn, I'm so sorry I messed up on that assignment. It's been the most frustrating thing I've ever done. I'm supposed to put that message in this wiki, make changes, do some other things, submit it to the teacher for credit. I can't get past the first step. It will only let me type in Rich Editor. When I move it back to the other, I cannot even enter it. And that's where I'm supposed to be for the assignment. I really want to learn how to do this, but after three days of changing computers, using different browsers, downloading Firefox and Java to see if that would work, I've got nothing and it still won't let me in when I click on that little irritating wiki box.
Sorry, I'm just frustrated. Is it possible for you to delete that assignment that I added? Somehow, I got into there. Wiki looks like a lot of fun, but after the last few days, I'm not sure I want to see it again for awhile.
Thanks for your help.
Patricia (Patsy) Brown
Thank you for the welcome.
I just became aware of your welcome message, and altough I believe myself to be fairly tech savy, I don't know how I blundered into it. The messaging and notifications here seem poorly thought out. I have turned on notifications on my account, I don't remember when I did it, it may have been after you messaged in August.
I am not sure if the standardization "future changes to the wiki" that is coming up will change the software here on the backend or not, but I find it so confusing right now that I have always gotten frustrated. I am assuming that the changes haven't happened yet.
Thank you again for the welcome

Washington and Oregon moderators
Could you please point me to the moderators for the Washington and Oregon County pages? I have some questions about pages in those states and how they differ from what I have seen (and like) in California. The California moderator put a link at the bottom of the Info box for the state, which makes is easy to find out who moderates. Thank you for your help. --Delvin Bunton 21:32, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
Note: I found the Washington moderator on a different page, and also discovered at present there is no Oregon moderator.
Submitting Image for Family History Center Wiki Page
I have been reading the instructions for adding an image to our Family History Center Wiki page. The instructions suggest:
1. Log in to Family Search Wiki 2. Click Upload File in the "Toolbox" section of the navigation bar.
However, when I am logged in to Family Search Wiki, the option “Upload File” is not available under “Tools”. The only options which I see under “Tools” are:
What links here Related changes Special pages Printable version Permanent link Page information Cite this page
Length of Time for Response to Uploaded File // Length of Time for Response to "Request Permission" from FamilySearch
Length of Time for Response to Uploaded File
I was informed by wikisupport about the glitch which occurred with the new version with the option of uploading images/files not rolling over to the new version of the wiki and of the resolution of the glitch with a link called Upload File/Image which was created in the sidebar under Volunteer and Helper. While the glitch was being fixed, wikisupport had me e-mail my image (picture of the exterior of the Family History Center) directly to them and they approved it and provided me a reference so that I could link to it from our Family History Center site.
I have since used the link to upload a file for approval (a pdf which contains a catalog of our local library's holdings). I created this file and uploaded it on 27 April 2016. I have not yet received a response about it being approved (or disapproved). Would you have any idea about how long this process should be? Or alternately, would you know how I would go about following up?
Length of Time for Response to "Request Permission" from FamilySearch
I recently discovered that the sealing ordinance (sealing to parents) for one of my uncles was never performed. He is deceased, he never married, he never had any children, his parents (my grandparents) are deceased, and all of his siblings (including my mother) are deceased. Thus, his closest relatives are his nephews and nieces (of which I am one). I submitted a "Request for Permission" to perform this ordinance for him on 4 April 2016. (I received a case number for the request.) I have not yet received a response about it being approved (or disapproved). Would you have any idea about how long this process should be? Or alternately, would you know how I would go about following up?

Thank you for the information which found for me.

New Wiki edits gone for Taylorsville UT FH Ctr
Hello Marilyn Gardner - There seems to be hints that you tried to send me a message, apparently when you reviewed my submitted Wiki changes last night for the new FH center at Taylorsville SLCC that I am the new director for. They are not yet approved?
But I didn't receive any such email from you. Could it be that there is some kind of new incompatibility with yahoo email addresses? That is what Lisa McBride mentioned briefly when she trained me and my wife yesterday at SLCC Institute. So I have changed my contact info primary email address to be my old comcast account instead of my new yahoo accouht.
Let me know what the problem with my Wiki edits might be. THANK YOU Jon Thomas
NEVERMIND 8/29/16 --- My edits now appear to be getting approved somewhere / somehow / by someone.
Thanks for the Welcome...
I'm new and very slow compared to the other two newbys. I am in the middle of finishing my former marriage/etc and renting a house all during the classes. I feel like the Lord has a plan and I am on this fast train and not sure where it is heading. I know one thing, this is where I need to be. I would like to contact Sis D. Batson (projects) to hopefully get started in the "reason I am still alive". I outlined this on my User page (intoduction). I almost died 3 times in Chile and once was told there was "a work" for me to do. I am so thankful that I am on this side to do that work. We have the project meeting tomorrow but I hoped I could suggest this project (my favorite at this time) to her. I was doing homework last night and noticed someone (MarJean) had started a spreadsheet (Google Forms) with some centers listed but the project was listed as inaactive. She is has obviously progressed the past 3 months with entries. If I am allowed, I hope to join work in progress as I brought with me personal email addresses etc of directors in most of Latin America and especially Chile. It isn't normal that I would receive those but of course, He knows what I may need to do His work. I feel amazingly directed to work in this area.
I am so excited to be a missionary once again and especially on this Team. My email is email@example.com. I'm learning (slowly) how to communicate the most efficient ways with team members and Mgt but I'm not there yet. Thanks Rod Potter.
