Top Wiki contributors in January

Ritcheymt will share a spreadsheet report showing the top contributors in January.

Next week's meeting: Internet only! No face to face meeting!

Our user group meeting next week will be Internet only. There will be no face to face meeting in the Joseph Smith Building -- no projector, no laptops, no people sitting around a table. We're doing this so we can focus on (and suffer through) the Web-based tools so we'll 1) put remote members of the user group on the same footing as HQ-based members, and 2) be motivated to improve the sound used for the remote group. LDS information

I agree that we should have sample forms on the Wiki such as the Family Group Sheet found on Family group record: roadmap for researchers. However, should these forms have the LDS Ordinances box? It seems like it might be better to have non-LDS specific ones and then an alternate way of getting to the LDS specific. This was an off-line discussion between Lise, Thomas, & Jimmy.

Record Search links links:  What can we do to make the work easier should they change the URLs to the record sets on that site?  Seems like we are going to have links on a large number of locality pages and maybe a few others as data sets get added there. Whenever they change the URL there, there are going to be all kinds of broken links. JamesAnderson 02:58, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

I think we need Jim Greene and Don Stringham to address this, James. Ritcheymt 15:27, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Communication and linking to the FamilySearch Catalog

Communication breakdown between the User group and the group assignments. Jimmy Parker and David Samuelse. dsammy 03:51, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Linking directly to catalog -- should we or shouldn't we? I've been doing so only when I want to direct the Wiki users to a specific portion of a large collection. Should we not even be doing that? Jbparker 15:06, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Carryover from Last Week

Linking to Record Search

There was a discussion on the linking to and some months ago in a flurry of emails. The decision came down, linking only to only because the pilot is in essence a temporary holding place. dsammy 03:53, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
