Hi, I'm Marilyn "Mari" Jackson. Reared in Utah, I now reside in Boise, Idaho, with my husband, Tom, of 45 years. We have three children and seven grandchildren. I worked through college as a legal secretary; graduated with a BA. After being elected and serving three terms as City Council member, I served as liaison to the legislature for a year.
Our children are the joy of our lives, but my hobbies include family history, gardening, quilting, baking, and helping with the family business, Star Ranch, where we raised certified alfalfa and Arabian Horses. We expanded our business to include long-haul semi-trucking, owning Shooting Star Transport.
In the summers, I jumped on the truck where we traveled throughout the 48 states. Business and family trips expanded travel to Hawaii and five countries. It wasn't unusual for me to be dropped off in a cemetery or museum taking pictures while the freight was being loaded or unloaded. I love history and family stories; while helping write the Centennial History for Utah, the website 'findagrave.com' was developed which showcases many of my pictures. My husband and I are excited about our callings to serve in Family History Missions and look forward to working with all of you.
