After having raised ten children Myra Sue Harris is an empty nester living in Fircrest, WA with her husband, Joseph Douglas Harris. They have 37 grandchildren many of whom have either served, are serving, or are planning to serve their missions in the coming years. Myra was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 43 years before she started working on her genealogy but after only a few days spent with her ancestors she became an enthusiastic "convert" to the work of finding our kindred dead.
With 18 adults in the family who hold temple recommends and 13 grandchildren who are able to do baptisms and confirmations the work has progressed rapidly. Myra and Doug worked together in the Family History Center in Tacoma, WA for one year before seeking the opportunity to serve missions in the Family History department of the church.
Myra spent her career as a Registered Nurse working in the fields of Human Reproduction, Labor/Delivery and NICU. After retiring from nursing she began writing. Four of her books have been published and she has spent the last ten years within the US and Canada teaching the topic of the Canine Reproduction System at educational seminars. She is looking forward to this time when she can learn new things, serve, and be of use to others as they work in the Family History department of the church.
