  1. New pages
Ensure new pages are within the wiki's scope:
    1. Go to the New Pages report.
    2. See the instructions for patrolling.
    3. Remember the following:
      • Patrol all namespaces. Select "all" from the dropdown and click Go.
      • On Talk pages, mark questions or comments that need answers or discussion with  contributor questions category.  (You do not need to worry about marking Indexing or Historical Records questions on talk pages. But still patrol them.)
  2. Recent changes
Look at Talk pages for patrons' questions that we can answer:
    1. Go to the Recent Changes report.
    2. See the instructions for patrolling.
    3. Remember the following:
      • Select to view 500 results (keep Namespace selected "all")
      • Search just for the Talk pages to patrol.

Answer Patron Questions

  1. Contributor Help Forum - ensure questions get answered. Often they will be answered by the community.
  2. Amdocs (CSMs only) - answer emails in both areas:
    • Wiki Support
    • Image Approval (Also make recommendations for individuals to be given Reviewer rights)

Wiki Meetings

Major Project

Family History Centers:

  • Have created a page for each of the 4600 or so Family History Centers world wide. As each FHC has filled out their pages with details of services offered by their staff, I have helped them with the format and answered questions they had about how to add information to their FHC pages.

  • Have created the FHC pages in Spanish, Portuguese, French and German for those who live in those countries. Am presently putting up these FHC pages in the Spanish, Portuguese and German FamilySearch Wikis.

  • I watch these pages as they are updated by the FHC directors and make sure that they stay within the guidelines of what materials should be on the site. I also will go in and correct any problems that were created by directors when they tried to edit but became confused at how to do the updating.

Developing Foreign Wikis

  • Translating and placing all help articles into all foreign wikis.
  • Translating all research articles that are now in English Wiki into the language of the Wikis that the articles apply too.
  • Work with the Vineyard website to coordinate translation of research and help articles with translators already registered.
