Alan R. Wambold, MLIS is a medical librarian with a major health care provider in Wisconsin. He has a Masters Degree in Library and Information Studies with an emphasis in Archives Management. He has been engaged in historical and genealogy research for over 25 years. All four major branches of his family have roots in Wisconsin, the earliest coming to the state around 1848. He has conducted research in many of the many record repositories throughout the state. He has a special interest in historical geography and sees genealogy as a study of the intersection of people with time and place. It is his hope that the Wisconsin section of the Research Wiki can help those with roots in Wisconsin gain an understanding of the place their ancestors lived, what records are available to document their lives and where to locate those records.
