Instructions for Cemeteries Table on Independent Cities[edit | edit source]

  • Suggestion - At least 2 tabs open (right click on the tab at the top, select Duplicate)
1. Sandbox Temp 6 not being edited
But you will have to refresh this often (F5 key)
2. Sandbox Temp 6 (the edited version)
3-on. You can also keep a tab for each of the 7 sites if you wish
  • New Independent city
1. Make it a heading
a. Put 4 ==== on both sides of the link already there
b. Change the city name in the link in the heading
2. Copy the master table into the new heading
a. Add the city name to the top row of the table

Scroll down the county list, click the city name, copy the URL
Paste the link to the table (bottom area)
Test the link

FindAGrave (top listing)[edit | edit source]

This is set to Virginia

  • Click Refine search
  • Type the city name (as found for that bottom lising)
  • Search, and copy the URL
  • Paste the URL into the table for that city
  • Test the link

VA USGenWeb[edit | edit source]

  • Click the link, select the city from list at the bottom, and copy the URL
  • paste
  • Test the link

VA Gravestones.org[edit | edit source]

  • Click the link, pick a region that looks likely, copy the URL
  • paste url
  • test the link (does it still seem like the right area?

Billion Graves[edit | edit source]

  • Click the link
  • Refine the search (slide down to the county area of Virginia)
  • Select from the list
  • Copy the URL, paste
  • Test

FamilySearch Catalog[edit | edit source]

  • Click the link (set to Virginia)
  • Click "Places within United States, Virginia"
  • From the list, click the Independent City
  • Open the "Cemeteries" area
  • Copy the URL
  • Paste the URL into the chart
  • Test the link

WorldCat[edit | edit source]

  • Just change the name of the city in the URL

  • Test the link
