  • Between 1475 and 1536 the Inca invasion and occupation occurred.
  • In 1687 the Spanish crown granted Juan Gregorio Bazán de Pedraza a mercy over an extensive region in which he built a chapel, started a residence and later established the mayorazgos of Anillaco and Fiambalá.
  • In 1713 the first delimitation of what is now the city of Tinogasta was made.
  • The department of Tinogasta has a population of approximately 22,000 people. [1]
