Talk:United States, War of 1812 Index to Pension Application Files (FamilySearch Historical Records)

The first line and last line of the section "Record Description" are inconsistent (as well as repetitive). Is the record span 1812-1905 or 1812-1910?  I would suggest that the first line be removed (including the "electron index"). You could actually remove both the first and last lines, and incorporate the span of years into the text, if you feel the collection title isn't sufficient to make that clear.

Existing text: "This is an index to pension applications which corresponds..."

Proposed text: "This is an index to pension applications filed between 1812 and 1910 which corresponds..."

The paragraph has now been changed to:

This is an index to pension applications which corresponds to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) publication M313. It covers the years from 1812 to 1910 and is arranged alphabetically by veteran's name.

At one time the Historical Records articles did not include a sentence with the date span of the records. We have added that sentence back into the articles because of requests by the community.

Thank you for reporting the "electron index" phrase.
