Mississippi Enumeration of Educable Children

I'm researching the Color ie Black Educable Children.....it appears your records are for whites.

Answer

I don't see the phrase Black Educable in either the collection information nor in this wiki article. The collection landing page states: These include the names of both black and white students.

The sample copy in the article is for black children or non-Caucasian children, as indicated in the Race line at the top right of the image by the phrase: Col.

If you follow this string of information in the browsed images you will see the word "colored" listed at the top right of the pages:

Mississippi, Enumeration ...ren, 1850-1892; 1908-1957 Bolivar 1943 Image 4 of 608 . To find this image, you need to click on the Browse images option, then Bolivar, then 1943. This particular image is image 4 of 608 in this folder. The link to this page is: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-14208-71127-57?cc=1856425&wc=M6NZ-H29:167436601,167439102

It does appear that there are non-Caucasian children in this collection.

Please reply on this page if I haven't answered your question.
