Stratford on Avon or Stratford-upon-Avon, an incorporated market-town, and the head of a union, in the parish of Old Stratford, having separate jurisdiction, though locally in the Stratford division of the hundred of Barlichway, S. division of the county of Warwick, 8 miles (S. W.) from Warwick, and 94 (N. W.) from London. There are places of worship for Baptists, Independents, and Wesleyans.
