STAININGTON, an ecclesiastical district in the parish of Ecclesfield, union of Wortley, N. division of the wapentake of Strafforth and Tickhill, W.riding of York, 4 miles (W. N. W.) from Sheffield, on the road to Glossop. There are places of worship for Wesleyans and Unitarians.
