History

Slaglille has suffered three fires. The first was sometime before 11 June 1654, the second was 20 February 1711, and the third was 14 June 1808. Most of the parish records begin after the last fire in 1808, but there are a few scattered birth records as early as 1790. In 1971, the chapleries of Slaglille-Bjernede and Alsted-Fjenneslev were merged. Slaglille remained the main parish while the others became annexes.
