Parish History

SHELLOW-BOWELS (St. Peter and St. Paul), is a parish, in the union of Ongar, the hundred of Dunmow, and N. division of Essex, it is 6¼ miles (N. E.) from Ougar. The living is a discharged rectory, it is consolidated with Willingdale-Doe. The church was erected on the site of a former structure in 1752.[1]
