FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a Family History Center, a branch facility of the Family History Library.


Welcome!

This FamilySearch Center serves the area east of Wasatch Boulevard and south from Parley's Canyon to about 4800 South.

Location:

  • 3510 South 3610 East (just east of Wasatch Blvd and I-215) Millcreek, UT 84109 United States
  • Center is located in the southeast corner of the building
  • There is plenty of parking.

Open Hours: Consultants available to help scheduled or walk-in patrons.

Monday: 1 pm - 3 pm

Tuesday: 1-3 pm YOUTH OPEN HOURS

Wednesday: 10 - 2 pm;

Wednesday evening can be reserved for groups

Thursday: 7 pm - 9 pm

Sunday: 11:15-noon and 1:15-2 pm

  • Other days and times by Appointment (801-520-7907 - leave message if no answer)
  • Groups are welcome to reserve center and consultants are available to teach requested classes.

In the case of bad weather and roads, please call (801.274.0047) to be sure the Center is open.

LABS and WORKSHOPS

Every Tuesday evening at 7 pm a different FH subject will be covered. All are welcome to attend.

Holiday Schedule:

The center is closed on all state and national holidays.

It is closed the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year.

Monthly consultant meetings held the second Wednesday, 7 pm in conference room of FH Center. (Except June, July, August and December)

Events

Photo and slide scanning will no longer be available at the center. Both are available at the following locations:

Family History Library Downtown - 35 North West Temple 801-240-2584 Monday 8 am-5 pm, Tuesday-Friday 8 am-9 pm, Saturday 9 am-5 pm

Riverton Family History Center 3740 West Market Center Drive (13175 South) 801-240-9601 Monday and Friday 9 am-5 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9 am- 9 pm, Saturday 10 am-4 pm

Center Resources

Databases and Software

This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.

Hardware and Equipment 

  • Six (6) MS Windows Desktop Computers.
  • Lexmark 466 printer/copier/scanner to add photos and documents directly to FamilySearch.  Also for general black and white printing.
  • HP Officejet 7610 printer/copier/scanner unit to print 11 by 17 inch color fan charts.
  • Table workspace with power outlets and WIFI access for personal computers.
  • Overhead mounted projector and non-glare whiteboard screen for presentations.
  • Conference room with projector, computer, conference table and 25 padded chairs.
