ROOSDOWN, an extra-parochial liberty, locally in the parish, union, and hundred of Axminster, Honiton and S. divisions of Devon, 3¼ miles (W. S. W.) from Lyme-Regis. This place, which was formerly a parish, was anciently called Ralphdown, in the reign of Henry II.
