  • The area was organized as part of the O'Higgins Province on December 10, 1883.
  • In 1885 the department of Maipo was organized. The town of Pirque corresponded to the new department.
  • The commune of Pirque was created on December 22, 1925 as part of the department of Maipo.
  • The commune of Pirque has a population of approximately 20,800 people[1].
