Ordering Microfilm or Microfiche
Microfilm Distribution Services Discontinued - ***UPDATE***[edit | edit source]
On September 8, 2017, FamilySearch discontinued its microfilm distribution services. (The last day to order microfilm was on September 7, 2017.) The change is the result of significant progress in FamilySearch’s microfilm digitization efforts and the obsolescence of microfilm technology. Digital imaging has made it easier to find ancestors through the internet, mobile, and other technologies. Here are some commonly asked questions about the replacement of microfilm with digital access.
Microfilm distribution services discontinue on September 8, 2017. The last day for ordering microfilm was September 7, 2017.

Visiting the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah[edit | edit source]
If you are visiting the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, you will be able to order microfilm/microfiche from the vault beyond the September 8, 2017 deadline. Microfilms and microfiche in the Granite Mountain Record Vault may take several days to reach the Family History Library. If the Catalog shows a film/fiche is in the vault, we recommend that you order it ahead of time so it will be at the Library when you arrive.

During your visit, you can order films by going to the Guest Services Window and filling out a paper form. Please allow 1-2 business days for arrival.
There is a 10 film limit per guest per day.
