Scanning/Conversion Services

The Center has the following equipment available for preserving documents, family histories and family photos. Please bring your own USB thumb drive. If using the VHS to DVD recorder, please bring your own DVD(s). You may schedule equipment for a one-hour session. Because the scanners are in such high demand, we encourage you to be on time. If you are 15 minutes late, it's possible you may have to reschedule.
  • Flatbed Scanner Large and Small Versions: This is an excellent scanner for books, documents, and items with thick bindings. It scans individual and multiple pictures from a single page.

  • Lexmark Color Copier/Printer/Scanner: This copier/scanner converts multiple page documents into a single .pdf file. This is ideal for preserving and sharing typewritten family histories.
  • VHS or DVD to MP4 recorder: This recorder converts a non copyrighted VHS to DVD or MP4. For every two hours of recording you will need one DVD. Please bring plenty of DVD's. Bring a USB thumb drive to record and save your MP4 files.
