Location Map:

The Menlo Park Family History Center is located in the small house just behind the LDS Church. We have an exceptional collection of books, film, and fiche focusing on British Isles, Germany and USA. There are also records available for other parts of the world and access to borrow films/fiche from the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. We have 10 computers, 8 microfilm readers, and 1 machine that will copy film/fiche to print or digital format. But our most valuable resource is the dedicated and knowledgeable volunteer staff who provide one-on-one help to patrons.

Center Services

Staff Research Specialties

We have a number of skilled and experienced genealogists who focus on geographic areas throughout the world.  These specialists are available on Saturday by appointment, or on their scheduled times.  For further information or to request an appointment, email us at

In addition to our specialists, our entire staff during our open hours welcomes your visit.  We try to help you with your family history effort, whether you are  just starting or experienced.  Our staff welcomes any challenge.  We provide access to our computer resources (including free premium subscriptions available at our Center), our focused library of specialized geographic materials, and a permanent collection of microfilm and microfiche indices from the Family History Library in Salt Lake City.

Resources in the Local Area

We coordinate with local genealogical and family history organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area, and can suggest other facilities which may provide access to research materials to help you.

Our new website is being expanded to include links to other websites for San Francisco peninsula family history and genealogy organizations, research sites which we recommend, and other sites which those with interest in family history might find useful.  See more later at

Volunteer at the Center

We welcome volunteers to help us move family history forward in the San Francisco peninsula.  Our only requirements: interest, energy, willingness to help others with family history and genealogy, and time to commit for at least one half-day shift in our Center per month.   If you have interest or want to learn more,  email us at
