Madrid, Franklin County, Maine Genealogy
Madrid is a former town, now an unorganized territory (township) in the West Central townships in Franklin County, Maine. Madrid was settled about 1807, and incorporated as a town in 1836. Maine's first gold strike was here in 1854. Madrid disincorporated in the year 2000. 
Other names: Township No. 1, First Range West of Bingham's Kennebec Purchase (T1 R1 WBKP).
Records. Madrid town and vital records prior 1910, are preserved in Madrid. A microfilm copy of Madrid town and vital records is available from the Family History Library on film 011553. Other types of records also exist for Madrid.
