Kentucky Information
Daniel Boone led the first settlers into Kentucky in 1775, through the Cumberland Gap. Kentucky became the 15th state to join the Union on June 1, 1792. There was a large migration into the territory around this time, that extending into the early 1800s. Kentucky was created from part of Virginia (District of Kentucky: Fayette, Jefferson, and Lincoln counties)and is located in the east south-central region of the United States.[1]The State has 120 counties. The Capital city is Frankfort. [2]
