Births

  • Register of British Subjects 1863-1913
This database is based on a ledger found in the Israel State Archives. The ledger is organized according the the first letter of the surname and states the first year the person registered with the consulate. Some times there are remarks about the person being registered with different spellings of his name.
  • Register of Births, British Consulate Jaffa until 1914
This database is a list of 34 births registered at the British Consulate in Jaffa between 1900 through 1914. The database contains the date of birth of the child, the name of the child, the names of both of the parents and the date of registration. This document was found at the National Archives (UK).
  • Register of Baptism at Christ Church, Jerusalem
Among the names in this ledger of the Christ Church can be found the names of Jews who converted to Christianity.
  • Births in African and Asian Protectorates for the Years 1916-1940

  • Marriage Registrations in Jerusalem 1893 – 1905
This a partial list from the ledger found in the Archive of the Council of the Sephardi and Oriental Communities, Jerusalem found in the Jerusalem Municipal Archives. It contains 3,474 brides and grooms (1,737 couples) with names of their fathers and the date of their marriage. The ledger belongs to the Council of the Sephardi and Oriental Communities, Jerusalem, who have given permission to publish this database
  • Marriage Registrations in Jerusalem 1905 – 1913
This a partial list from the ledger found in the Archive of the Council of the Sephardi and Oriental Communities, Jerusalem found in the Jerusalem Municipal Archives. It contains 2,238 brides and grooms (1,119 couples) with names of their fathers and the date of their marriage. The ledger belongs to the Council of the Sephardi and Oriental Communities, Jerusalem, who have given permission to publish this database.
  • Marriage & Divorce Certificates issued during the Mandate Period 1921-1948
The Israel State Archives has asked IGRA to build a database of over 50,000 certificates from this period. The project will take 3-4 years. These are not the same as the ledgers in the Rabanut, but are the certificates issued upon request. Some certificates are for marriages that took place 3-20 years before. As parts of the collection are finished and transliterated, they will be upload to this website.

  • Marriage Registrations of the Zikhron Ya’akov Colony 1919-1940
This ledger was found in the Historical Archive of the Zikhron Ya’akov Local Council. It consists of the names of 778 people from Zikhron Ya’akov and the area whose marriage was registered with the committee of Zikhron Ya’akov. In addition to the bride and groom, it contains the names of the parents and for most of the couples their age and where they were born. For more information contact the archive in Zikhron Ya’akov.
  • Marriage certificates Emek Yizrael (Jezreel Valley) 1931-41
The Rabbi for Emek Yizrael kept a record of the marriages he officiated at. His son copied them into a ledger that is at the Emek Yizrael Regional Coucil Archives. The list includes 570 people married between 1931-1941.
  • Marriage Announcements in the Palestine Post 1932-1950
A list of 1,705 marriages announced in the Palestine Post. The information was extracted from the Palestine Post on the Historical Jewish Press website of the National Library of Israel.

Deaths

  • Register of Burials at Christ Church, Jerusalem
In the 1860’s there was a Cholera epidemic in Jerusalem. Various members of the Jewish community were treated at the medical facilities of the Christ Church. Among the names in this ledger of the Christ Church can be found the names of Jews who were buried in the graveyard of the church.
  • Deaths of People Exiled within Eretz Israel 1917-1919
Folder - Work in Progress This database was donated by Prof. Gur Alroey of Haifa University. The database contains the names of 947 Jewish residents in Eretz Israel, who were exiled from their homes in Eretz Israel to a different place within the country by the Turkish administration. The database includes the name of the deceased, and additional information for most of them as to date of death, place of death, original place of residence and sometimes place of burial.
  • People Buried in Zikhron Ya’akov 1920-1948
This ledger was found in the Historical Archive of the Zikhron Ya’akov Local Council. It consists of the names of 373 people buried in the cemetery of Zikhron Ya’akov. In addition to the name of the deceased, it contains the names of their parents, the deceased’s age and occupation and additional information.
