“Immaculate Conception” is a Roman Catholic Church located in Pulau Tikus, Penang. It was founded in 1811. The current Parish Priest is Father Michael Cheah. Currently, the church is under improvements and closed, but the Parish Office is open Monday through Thursday to accept requests for information regarding the cemetery attached to this church. The cemetery where the parishioners of the Immaculate Conception Church are interred is called the Kelawai Cemetery, because of its location on Kelawai Road. It is a very well-manicured cemetery and a delight to visit. Located near the entrance is a diagram of the cemetery, which corresponds with information obtained in the Parish Office regarding the location of those who are buried there. In addition, there is a wall whose inner part contains columbarium niches. The gates of the cemetery close at 6:00 p.m.
