Placing infoboxes

  • Since an infobox is technically a template you would think you place it with curly brackets surrounding the name of the infobox like so:
{{Sample Infobox}}
  • We are giving the name of our example infobox "Sample Infobox"
  • Now here is here the parameters come into play. We add them to the coding of the infobox inside the curly brackets like so:

{{Infobox sample
|organization=
|image=
|president=
|address=
|phone=
|hours open=
}}

  • NOTICE each parameter created in the last chapter now is a pipe, the name of the parameter with an equal sign.
  • It is after the equal sign that we add the names or images etc that are to show up in the template. This is the part that makes individual infoboxes changeable without changing this template if it is embedded on other pages.
