Defaulted Wiki Notifications[edit | edit source]

Because you have a FamilySearch account, you are automatically set up to receive notifications and emails from the Wiki in the following situations:

  • Message on your User Talk page
  • Changes to your Wiki user role
  • Changes made to any Wiki page you are watching

These notifications are defaulted with each account creation can be changed manually to suit the user's needs.

To Change Notification Options[edit | edit source]

Use the instructions below to change your options for receiving notifications:

User Profile tab[edit | edit source]

1. Go to the Research Wiki and sign in using your FamilySearch account.
2. In the top right hand corner of the screen, click on Preferences.
3. On the User profile tab, scroll down to the bottom of the page and change any notifications by unchecking a box or adding a check to a box.

Options included on the Profile tab are:[edit | edit source]
  • Allow other users to email me
  • Allow emails from brand-new users
  • Send me copies of emails I send to other users
  • Email me when a page or a file on my watchlist is changed
  • Email me also for minor edits of pages and files

Notifications tab[edit | edit source]

1. Go to the Research Wiki and sign in using your FamilySearch account.
2. In the top right hand corner of the screen, click on Preferences.
3. On the Notifications tab, change any notifications by unchecking a box or adding a check to a box.

Options included on Notifications tab[edit | edit source]
  • Talk page message
  • Thanks
  • Mention
  • Page link
  • User rights change
  • Edit revert
  • Email from other user
