FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a Family History Center, a branch facility of the Family History Library.

The Family History Center located in the Harkers Island Meetinghouse is staffed with locals whose families have been locals for hundreds of years! Our enthusiasm for family history research is as rich and deep as our island heritage. Our center serves the "Down East" area of Carteret County, including the communities of Bettie, Otway, Smyrna, Williston, Davis, Stacy, Sea Level, Atlantic, Cedar Island, Gloucester, Marshallberg, Straits and Harkers Island. We use FamilySearch, a free online Family Tree. Our center also has access to Ancestry.com as well as other premium genealogy research websites. Come visit us and let us help you find your family's roots.
