Parish History

GILLINGHAM, a town, a parish, a sub-district, and a liberty in Dorset. The town stands on the river Stour, and on the Salisbury and Yeovil railway, near the borders of Wiltshire and Somerset, 4 miles NW of Shaftesbury. There are three dissenting chapels.[1]
