Reaction to presentations and press releases at FGS Conference in Tennessee. Jimmy B. Parker 21:12, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
- The Tennessee project was an official press release and heavily advertised at the FGS conference. Dick Eastman, the Genealogy Blog, Ancestry Insider, and the Deseret News and the FGS Conference Blog carried the press release. Over the past 45 days there has been an increase in traffic on the Tennessee page by 5,000 hits.

- Kudos goes to ...
- I would like to make perhaps half of our meetings become an open discussion where each of you can ask questions, make suggestions, raise issues about records, etc. The best way to do this would be for you to edit this page and post an agenda item under this heading of "Discussion Items." However, unless it gets out of hand, you could also just bring things up verbally during the meeting and we can discuss the issue. Bottom line, I would like to get out of the business of being a "dictator" of what goes on the Idaho pages and become a "facilitator" for the community to suggest and decide on what things should be on those pages. - In a similar vein, I would like to know what topics YOU would like covered in these meetings. What would you like to learn to do? Or do better? Who would like to teach some of those topics? In short, I would like to mentor those who would like to become a leader of a project for a state, a county, a topic, etc. And you can then move forward with little or no direct guidance from me. - An ongoing discussion will be on the Forums in the next couple of weeks, regarding the locality templates, their look and content, etc. Jimmy B. Parker 21:35, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
