Resources for Delaware Newspapers
A helpful publication that includes early Delaware information is:
- Scott, Kenneth, and Janet Clarke. Abstracts from the Pennsylvania Gazette, 1748-1755. Baltimore, Maryland: Genealogical Publishing, 1977. (Family History Library book 974.811 B38sa.) During this period, Delaware had no newspaper, so the Pennsylvania Gazette gave extensive coverage to what is now Delaware. The volumes contain one- to two-line news items with names and dates and include an index.

The U.S. Newspaper Directory, 1690-Present is a national directory from the Library of Congress of over 140,000 newspaper titles. The directory provides a list of libraries from around the country that have the newspapers in their collections.
