Parish History

CREDENHILL (St. Mary), a parish, in the hundred of Grimsworth, union and county of Hereford, 5 miles from Hereford. [1]

Credenhill is an Ancient Parish; the parish church of St Mary dates from the 12th century and has been designated as a grade I listed building by English Heritage British listed building .

Credenhill is also noteworthy for two historical associations:

  • The Reverend Charles Bulmer rector grew apples used to make cider and the Bulmer's cider company founded in 1887 became a leading producer of cider Credenhill Wikipedia
  • The former RAF Hereford became home to the Special Air Service SAS Wikipedia
