Hazardous/vicious site found in recent changes. Make sure your virus protection/firewall up to date because we are one of the first to come across these items (virus and cookies being injected). Be careful of external links.

Thank you for working on recent changes and collaborating together. It helps us to

  1. See what is being touched.
  2. Catch potenial attacks

  • What did you learn this week that you want to share?
  • What do you need help with?
  • Do you have questions or suggestions regarding others are working on?

Robin:  Visited Greenwood County Library (SC) to introduce local history room volunteers and staff to Wiki and invite them to create a Wiki Page for the Lawrence Local History and Genealogy Room.  This is the most recent invitation I have given to attract knowledgable contributors to the Wiki. They wanted to learn about resources to help with African American Research.  I pointed out specific Wiki articles, and other resources.  I will make a return visit to share more resources.

Janell:  1.  We will meet to discuss moving extremely active contributors to moderator status.

           2.  We discussed the Wiki Trainer program.

  • Help members of your organization (FHC consultants & patrons) learn why and how to use the wiki in their genealogical research
  • Create and/or update your organization’s (or FHC’s) wiki web page
  • Assist those who desire to contribute their own knowledge to the Wiki.

We may notice a lot more being done by FHC's on the Wiki under the direction of Nathan Murphy.  Family history centers also learned about this program last year and continue to discover it on the home page of the Wiki and under In Person Help.  As a team going through recent changes, we will look for FHC page edits and fix minor formatting issues (often italicized instructions or user edits are left in italics) ourselves.  We will give praise and leave helpful tips or guidance for other ways the pages can be made better on the Talk page. See example. Lee has made a request to have a userbox for Wiki Trainers created.  He has also updated the instructions for adding userboxes

Robin will create a knowledge document on how we support Wiki Trainers.
