The Documentary Management Division presents a historical journey, as a result of the construction work and institutional histories that are required for the elaboration of the Documentary Valuation Tables, which are also necessary for the organization of the historical archive. This tour is accompanied by the construction of the Nation, here are the historical periods that were transforming higher education in the country, its evolution and the representative changes within our Institution, given over time until the consolidation of the National University from Colombia.

Collective Archive (Archivo Colectivo)

Here you will find digitized images from the Neogranadina time period. These images come from the Centro de Investigaciones Históricas "José María Arboleda Llorente" at the Universidad del Cauca (formerly known as the Archivo Central del Cauca) in Popayán and the Archivo Histórico Regional in Tunja, Boyacá. There are over 2.572 published documents, for a total of 78.223 images.

The General Archive of the Nation is a public establishment of the national order in charge of formulating, orienting and controlling the Archival Policy, coordinating the National Archives System and the National Archives Network, and guaranteeing the preservation of the documentary heritage, ensuring the rights of the citizens and access to information, as well as the improvement in the efficiency of public management, the efficiency of the State through a documentary management articulated with the use of Information and Communication Technologies.
The Archivo General has microfilms for most of the Catholic Parishes in Boyacá. Some of them are found online through their Archidoc system. You can also pay to have digital copies made.

The Historical Archive of the Universidad del Rosario is the place that contains the last stage of the life cycle of the documents that have been produced based on the institutional mission; here the administrative and academic documents of the university are preserved in their daily work, since its foundation in 1653. The Universidad del Cauca has the “José María Arboleda Llorente” Historical Research Center, the most important archive at the regional level and second at the national level, not only because of the age of its documents, but because of the volume, continuity of information and the degree of cataloging of the same, in whose collection the community in general can consult historical information on Popayán, Cauca and other municipalities and departments of the country.

The National Museum of Colombia was created in 1823, and is one of the oldest in America. It offers its visitors seventeen permanent exhibition rooms, in which around 2,500 works and objects are exhibited, symbols of history and national heritage. In its calendar of temporary exhibitions, the Museum presents samples of national and international history, art and archeology. Additionally, it offers a varied academic and cultural program that includes conferences, concerts, theater and dance presentations, and audiovisual screenings, among others.

MAPUKA is the Karib Peoples Archaeological Museum of the Universidad del Norte. Its purpose is to contribute to the recognition of the identities of the Colombian Caribbean, from the appreciation and activation of the memory of the cultural processes that took place in this territory during the pre-Hispanic and colonial periods, until the first half of the 20th century, through the archaeological collection that includes ceramic, lithic, metallurgical, archeofauna, and bio-anthropological materials. The museum is the result of the commitment acquired by the Universidad del Norte for four decades, with the research, conservation and dissemination of the archaeological heritage of the Caribbean region, where the museum, archeology, history, the university, the region and non-formal education.
