  • There was an Estancia that was owned by Tula Cervín. Later that area formed "Our Lady of Capayán" by Diego Gómez de Pedraza.
  • It was incorporated in 1855, coinciding with the sanction of the second Provincial Constitution - With lands of the Capital department.
  • The department of Capayán has a population of approximately 13,000 people. [1]
