Archives and Libraries

Introduction

The Bulgarian archival system was first established in the twentieth century. Some Bulgarian records for the Ottoman period may be located in Turkey and Greece. Also, compiled genealogies exist in some community libraries (reading halls).[1] Efforts to obtain genealogical information from Bulgarian archives by correspondence are usually futile.[2]
