History
  • c1200 - Bosnia fought for and achieved independence
  • 1463 - Conquered by Ottoman Empire, known as Bosna
  • 1908 - Formally annexed by Austro-Hungary

In 1991 the Bosnian population totaled 4,365,000. 44% were Muslim Slavs, 31% were Bosnian Serbs and 17% were Bosnian Croats.[1]
