FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a Family History Center, a branch facility of the Family History Library.

The Blackfoot Idaho Family History Center is located in Blackfoot Idaho and serves patrons from throughout the the area.  All are welcome to use center resources in their family history efforts.

Open Hours:

  • Monday: closed till further notice
  • Tuesday:9:00am-9:00 pm
  • Wednesday:9:00am-9:00 pm
  • Thursday:9:00am-9:00 pm
  • Sunday: 4:00-8:00 Pm

Holiday Schedule:

Closed for all major holidays including 24 July: Closed: Sept. 1st thru Sept. 7th (Fair Week) Thanksgiving week from Nov. 26 through Dec 1st, also closed for General Conference week ends, April 6-7 and Oct. 5-6

Closed for Christmas and New Years from December 24th through January 1st:

Open October 31, 2019 (Halloween) from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

  Center Resources



  • The library hosts a small collection of books, microfilm, and microfiche. 

Databases and Software

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.
  • There is a local database of obituaries from in and near Blackfoot from 1983.

Hardware and Equipment

  • 20 Computer stations are available for patron use.
  • Lexmark scanner, copier, printer
  • Epson fast copier for photos
