Parish History

ASHTON (St. John the Baptist), a parish, in the union of St. Thomas, hundred of Exminster, Teignbridge and S. divisions of Devon, 4 miles (N. by W.) from Chudleigh. The church contains a very finely carved wooden screen and rood-loft.[1]
