Family history societies often publish helpful journals, transcripts, compiled genealogies and host helpful websites. They may have ongoing projects to transcribe records and create indexes. Most societies publish queries in their journals and maintain lists of members’ research interests that may be helpful to you. You may want to join one of these societies, reap the benefits of their expertise and resources, or support its efforts.
Addresses of the societies are for the most part where their meetings are held as they are by-and-large not brick-and-mortar institutions.

- The Society's objects shall be the practical study of archaeology, natural science, art, literature, history, and kindred subjects as far as they pertain to Anglesey, also the preservation of historical documents, ancient monuments, rare birds and plants, and objects of geological or other scientific interest in the Island, and to foster public interest in and appreciation of these subjects.
- It is hoped that this will be a dynamic and innovative society with a focus on community archaeology and history and bottom up heritage management which will work closely with existing heritage bodies. More importantly and surprisingly rare for Wales, it will create a society which aims to promote the study of archaeology and history through the medium of Welsh, which we hope will lead to greater participation from those who wouldn't usually participate.
