Where Do You Think You Are?

An introductory guide to English/Welsh administrative units. We're probably all familiar with the idea that our ancestors lived in a particular parish and that the parish belonged to a particular county. But they also, simultaneously, inhabited a number of other administrative units including hundreds, dioceses, archdeaconries, boroughs, registration districts, parliamentary districts and sanitary districts. This talk will aim to explain what these various units were, how they may have impacted on our ancestors' lives and how understanding more about them can help us to track down relevant records.
