May 26, 1935 We went to a birthday surprise at Uncle Henry Brandt. (Willie's uncle is 59 years old.) It rained almost all day. Mon. May 27, 1935 It rained all day. Tues. May 28, 1935 It rained almost all day . We went to town at night. Wed. May 29, 1935 I washed today. Elroy picked some gooseberries. Willie and Claus Meyer went fishing. Lorena and Otto were here tonight. Thurs. May 30, 1935 The school children had their outing and we went along. Fri. May 31, 1935 We helped saw wood at Ferdnant Harms and it was windy and it rained hard that night. Sat. June 1, 1935 It rained in the afternoon and at night. Sun. June 2, 1935 We were over at Paul Meyers. Celebrated Elmer's birthday and it rained in the evening. Mon. June 3, 1935 I washed today. I picked some gooseberries. It was a nice day. Tues. June 4, 1935 I ironed today and canned 3 quarts of gooseberries. Wed. June 5, 1935 I went to the Ladies Aid today at Mrs. John Albers. Thurs. June 6, 1935 It was 50 degrees. It rained all day. I made 2 aprons and a shirt for Willie. Mon. June 24, 1935 We planted our sugar cane. Thurs. Jul 4, 1935 We planted some corn. Sat. Jul 6, 1935 We were cutting wheat til 5:30. Then it started to rain. Mon. Jul 8, 1935 I washed and the men started to cut the first oats. Tues. Jul 9, 1935 I canned 2 quarts blackberries. Wed. Aug 14, 1935 We started to thresh Wednesday afternoon. Thurs. Aug 15, 1935 We finished threshing this morning. We got 382 bushels of wheat. Sat. Aug 17, 1935 We had a nice rain this morning. Thurs. Aug 22, 1935 I washed for Koester brothers and went to town and got a bed spring for $4.75 and when we got home we got company, Mr. & Mrs. H. Koester from Kansas. Sun. Aug 25, 1935 We went to Cole Camp to the Mission Festival. Mon. Aug 26, 1935 Lorena was here and we put out 3 washings and at night we went to Otto and Lorena's. Elroy put new soles under my Sunday shoes. Tues. Aug 27, 1935 I ironed today and Mrs. Rudolph Fischer and children were here in the afternoon. Thurs. Aug 29, 1935 We went to the Farmers picnic. I got first prize on quilt (Flower Garden) and first on wheat. We cleaned the school house this morning and I bought me a new dress for 39 cents a yard. Fri. Aug 30, 1935 I put up my new curtains in the dinning room. Sun. Sept 1, 1935 We had company today. It rained all day, 3 inches. Mr. & Mrs. Henry Brandt, Mr. & Mrs. Henry Fuehring, Mr. & Mrs. Otto Holsten, Mr. & Mrs. J. A. Holsten, Walter and Lelah. Mon. Sept 2, 1935 I washed today. Wed. Sept 4, 1935 I went to the Ladies Aid at Mrs. Louis Fajen. We bought 2 bushels peaches, $1 and $1.15 a bushel. Tues. Sept 17, 1935 I washed today and washed for the boys. Sat. Sept 21, 1935 We vaccinated 240 pullets for ? and chicen pox. Sun. Sept 22 We visited at Mama and Papa's. Mon. Sept 23, 1935 Lorena and I put out 3 washings. Tues. Sept 24, 1935 I went to Lorena and Otto's. (Duane Kenneth was born.) Wed. Sept 25, 1935 I was over at Lorena's all night. Thurs. Sept 26, 1935 I canned apples. Fri. Sept 27, 1935 Canned apples and ironed. Sat. Sept 28, 1935 Done Saturday work. Sun. Sept 29, 1935 We visited at Mr. & Mrs. Otto Holsten. Mon. Sept 30 I ordered me two patterns. No. 5418 and 5437. We had some green corn for dinner. I washed today. Thurs. Oct 3, 1935 I canned 8 quarts of corn. Fri. Oct 4, 1935 We were over to Lorena and Otto's tonight. Sun. Oct 6, 1935 We went to Sedalia today. J. and Elroy went to sale and I stayed with Lorena. We made some sour kraut. Thurs. Oct 24, 1935 We brought 8 bushels of apples in the cellar today and butchered a hog tonight. Sun. Dec 1, 1935 We went to church this morning. Otto and Lorena and Duane were here in the afternoon and at night we went to Mr. Henry Brandt. Mon. Dec 2, 1935 I washed this morning. Wed. Dec 4, 1935 Elroy put a new wick and mantle on the lamp. Thurs. Dec 5, 1935 We papered the south bedroom and the hall. Mrs. Theresa and Joseph Brandt, sister Ella, Aurilia Koester and Lorena help me. It took 6 roll side wall, 4 roll ceiling, 20 yard border. Fri. Dec 6, 1935 We done some paper patching in the dining room and at night were visiting at Mr. Henry Brandt. Sat. (Lisette was born 24 Mar 1884, 52 years old.) Thurs. Mar 26, 1936 Went to town and started to clean the dining room. Fri. Mar 27, 1936 I painted the dining room floor. Sat. At night I was over to Lorena's. Wed. Nov. 4, 1936 I ironed some and stamped some tea towels. At night we were over to Henry Ehlers. Thurs. Nov 5, 1936 We had our chickens culled. We kept 291 chickens. Fri. Nov 6, 1936 I sewed a little. At night we went to town. Thurs. Nov 12, 1936 They made the foundation for the barn and went fishing at night. Fri.
