Juanita J. Howell, 89, of Quincy, died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday (November 19, 2016) in the North Adams Home in Mendon, Illinois. 

Born June 2, 1927 in Palmyra, Missouri, Juanita was the daughter of Floyd and Atha Buck King. She married Robert H. "Bob" Howell on November 21, 1947 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2009. 

Juanita loved the Lord and her faith was very important in her life. She was a charter member of Payson Road Christian Church which became The Crossing. Always active with her church, Juanita taught Sunday School for 40 years and was instrumental in organizing and serving funeral dinners for many years. She was also an avid Bridge player and was a member of two Bridge Clubs. Juanita enjoyed tending her flower gardens and will be remembered by her family for her cooking and canning of foods. 

Juanita devoted her life to caring and raising her family. 

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Niehoff (Thomas) of Quincy, Carol Howell of Quincy and June Jacobs (Bill) of Quincy; two sons, Dennis Howell of Quincy and Daniel Howell who followed Juanita into eternal life also on Saturday. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Tammy Hoschar (Jeff), Cassy Roth, Carrie Kellenberger, Michael Santucci, Rheagan DeVerger and Murphy Dochterman; ten great-grandchildren, a sister, Maxine Stover of Hannibal, MO and a sister in law, Judy King of Hannibal, MO; and several nieces and nephews. 

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; a grandson, Tyler Hoschar; four brothers, Roy King, Bill King, Charles King and Alfred King; and two sisters, Helen King and Velma Cramlett. 

Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in the Akers Chapel Cemetery near Plainville. 

Arrangements are in the care of Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy. 

Memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses for Daniel. ZRSC FH
